Kimberly Whayne, MS, LPC-S
Crossing an ocean may seem impossible, but with the right tools, one can traverse the sea and embrace its wonders. Kimberly Whayne lives by this belief, devoting her life and work to walking alongside others on their healing journeys, empowering them with the tools, courage, and faith needed to break generational cycles and walk in purpose.
Kimberly is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Equine Therapist with over a decade of experience in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. She is the founder of Overcross Counseling and Equine Services, where she offers an alternative approach to healing by using horses as therapeutic partners. Since 2017, her work has helped clients connect to their emotions, build boundaries, and take intentional steps toward better mental health.
In addition, Kimberly leads Together Aligning the Community for the Kingdom 2:13, a nonprofit rooted in faith and community empowerment. The organization brings individuals, churches, and community partners together to invest in spiritual wellness, family restoration, and legacy-building for future generations.
As a native of North Tulsa, a proud graduate of Tulsa Central High School, and an alumna of Langston University with a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling, Kimberly is passionate about creating change from within. She currently serves as the President of the Tulsa Black Mental Health Alliance, advancing mental health equity and leading initiatives that support Black and Brown communities with culturally relevant care.
She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and an active member of Friendship Church in Tulsa, continuing to align her personal faith with her professional mission. Kimberly’s heart is for the people, especially the young boys and girls she envisions growing into their full potential, and the families and leaders working together to build something better.
