WHOW Speaker Development Course
“Rising to Speak: Empowering Voices for Purpose and Impact”
Duration: 4 Weeks | Format: 2-hour weekly sessions (or 30–60 minutes self-paced online)
Purpose: To train women to become confident, purpose-driven speakers who represent WHOW’s mission through storytelling, leadership, and empowerment.
Course Goals
By the end of this 4-week course, participants will:
- Discover their personal message and speaking style.
- Learn to connect their story to WHOW’s mission and core values.
- Develop confidence and clarity when speaking on stage or online.
- Prepare and deliver a 5–7 minute inspirational talk.
Week 1 – Discovering Your Voice & Message
Theme: “Your Story Has Power”
Focus: Identifying your personal story, passion, and purpose.
Objectives:
- Understand the purpose of speaking within WHOW.
- Identify key life experiences that align with WHOW’s mission (Education, Employment, Entrepreneurship, Empowerment).
- Craft a personal purpose statement.
Activities:
- “My Story Map” Worksheet (turning life experiences into impact points).
- Group sharing: 2-minute introductions.
Reflection Questions:
- What experiences shaped your desire to empower others?
- How does your story connect to WHOW’s vision of helping women rise?
Scripture Focus: Revelation 12:11 – “They overcame by the word of their testimony.”
Week 2 – Building Confidence & Stage Presence
Theme: “Speak with Boldness”
Focus: Overcoming fear and developing your delivery style.
Objectives:
- Learn confidence techniques (breathing, posture, mindset).
- Practice using tone, pauses, and body language.
- Embrace authenticity — not perfection.
Activities:
- “Confidence Circle” exercise: speaking affirmations aloud.
- Record and review a 1-minute video introducing yourself as a WHOW speaker.
Reflection Questions:
- What fears hold you back from speaking publicly?
- What does confidence mean to you in faith and purpose?
Scripture Focus: 2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”
Week 3 – Crafting a Signature Talk
Theme: “Your Message Matters”
Focus: Structuring your speech and connecting with your audience.
Objectives:
- Learn WHOW’s preferred presentation structure:
- Opening Story – personal and engaging
- Message of Empowerment – the transformation moment
- Practical Takeaway – what the audience can do next
- Closing Inspiration – scripture, quote, or challenge
Activities:
- Draft your 5–7 minute talk using the “WHOW Story-to-Stage Template.”
- Practice delivering your opening and closing paragraphs.
Reflection Questions:
- What is the main message God has placed on your heart to share?
- What action do you want women to take after hearing you speak?
Scripture Focus: Proverbs 31:26 – “She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”
Week 4 – Delivering with Impact & Legacy
Theme: “Speaking from a Place of Purpose”
Focus: Final presentation, feedback, and commissioning.
Objectives:
- Deliver your prepared WHOW talk.
- Receive constructive feedback from peers and facilitators.
- Learn how to continue growing as a WHOW ambassador and speaker.
Activities:
- “Live Speak Session” – 5-minute talk per participant.
- Peer & mentor evaluations.
- Closing ceremony & WHOW Speaker Pledge.
Reflection Questions:
- How has your confidence and clarity grown through this journey?
- What legacy do you want your words to leave?
Scripture Focus: Matthew 5:14 – “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.”
